Day 18 Palace of Versailles, Seine River Cruise
Bonjour
Last full day in Paris. On the list today- the Palace of Versailles. Trains have been great, and our 5 day rail pass has made travel so easy in Paris. Trained straight to Versaille. Palace was beautiful – white (ish). As you can see in the photos, the rooms were ornately decorated and had fantastic artwork on the ceilings and hanging from the walls. Spent a couple of hours touring the rooms and the fantastic gardens. Have some fantastic ideas for landscaping when we get back. Rick was looking worried when I suggested we model our backyard on the gardens here – loved the symmetry of the garden and the pots. Would look great in our house.
Finished the afternoon with a very relaxing cruise down the Seine River. A beautiful 22 degrees today so it was nice to rest whilst seeing the sights from a different angle.
Pick up our Peugeot tomorrow. Rick will have to drive out of Charles de Gaulle airport...thank god we have Tomasina. It will be a nightmare.
Au Revoir
