Bonjour.......It seemed to take all day to get here, given we were at the airport at 7.15 am. BUT...now we are here, Wow is all I can say! Am sitting in our very nice apartment looking out at the Eiffel tower....what a view! We also overlook the Seine River. We are having a French Pinot Noir as a pre dinner drink with fresh bread, French Brie and caviar dip. The Eiffel Tower is starting to light up. Life does not get much better than this.
We spent the afternoon walking to the Eiffel Tower (about 15 minutes). It’s massive??? Decided to check it all out tonight online – pre-order our tickets. Quite a heavy police and army presence today at the Tower – understandable I guess given the recent Terrorist alert. Convinced Rick we MUST go to the top – both a bit hesitant. Will do it tomorrow. Walked along the Seine River and strolled around the shops. Finally had a nice Latte in a cafe (been hanging out for a good latte for ages) and Rick continues to sample a range of beers. After braving the "supermarket" we are cooking up a storm tonight and will stroll along the Seine River later.
NB - Could see the Eiffel Tower light show from our windows. Above lit photo is what we sit and watch as we eat.
